Your California Employee Privacy Rights


This “Employee Privacy Policy” applies to any of Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. and its affiliates and related companies’ (“TOSHIBA” or “we”, “our” or “us”) employees, contractors, job applicants, and prospective employees who are California residents and about whom we have collected personal information in the course of employment or application for employment with us (collectively, “you”).


For purposes of this section, “personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular resident or household. Personal information does not include publicly available information or information that has been de-identified.

  • The Information We Collect
    • Identifiers, which include first and last name, postal address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, Internet Protocol address, email address, telephone number, account name, Social Security number, passport number, tax identification number, employee identification number, serial number, and other similar identifiers;
    • Commercial information, which includes bank account number and credit and debit card numbers;
    • Internet or other electronic network activity information, which includes browsing and search histories;
    • Professional or employment-related information, which includes employment history;
    • Education-related information, including the colleges, high schools, trade schools or any other institution of higher learning;
    • Information not listed above and related to characteristics protected under California or federal law, which includes gender, ethnicity, age, birth country, and marital status;
    • Other personal information not listed above and described in California Civil Code § 1798.80(e), which includes signature, insurance policy number, and other financial, medical, and health insurance information; and
    • Inferences about you, which includes recruiting, hiring, disciplinary actions, and other actions taken within the context of recruitment, employment and/or termination with us.

  • What We Do With Your Information
    We may collect or use your personal information in any categories of information in Section A for the following purposes:
    • Payroll and benefits
    • Recruiting and processing employment applications
    • Human resources and workforce management
    • Administering events, travel, and expenses
    • IT and communications systems operations, maintenance, and security
    • Legal compliance, risk management, and audit
    • Protect legal rights, safety, privacy, and property of us and others
    • Tax and other government filing requirements

Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. does not recognize resumes or other application information submitted from staffing agencies or search firms. Therefore, please do not submit resumes or any other information through our career web site or directly to our employees, as these will not be eligible for any agency fee. It is at the sole discretion that only Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. human Resources department assign certain positions to staffing agencies and search firms that have a current approved agreement in place.
